Easy walking trail in Spain – dogs allowed
Toll Blau: maybe it’s my photography skills, but I couldn’t fully capture the beauty of this place. With mountains high on both sides of the path, it feels like a canyon. There is a small river winding it’s way through the rocks, parallel to the path.
If you want a peaceful nature walk, Toll Blau is for you.
Walking route
Toll Blau is accessible by a dirt track, but good enough for our big van. You can hike from one parking to another and make a big hike out of it, but we just walked the same road back to our starting point. We walked for about an hour, and with the different perspective of the way back it was not a problem to walk the same route again at all. It was gorgeous!
Our travel companion Andy brought his dog Maya along, and Maya loved running up and down to the water and back to the path. I don’t know for sure if off-leash was allowed (could be different in high-season), but nobody seemed to mind. If you want to visit this place: go in low season like we did. The absence of people makes the place even dreamier, like you’ve discovered a natural hidden treasure.

Swimming in Toll Blau
Right next to the path -down below in the canyon-, there’s a sparkling blue water stream. The water is ice blue, but also ice cold.🥶 In the picture you see the exact spot where we jumped in. Fish everywhere!
While walking we also saw a snake!🐍 Jonathan almost stepped on it, but luckily the snake slithered away again into the bushes.
Mill told us later (the girl who recommended Toll Blau to us) that the snakes don’t only live in the bushes, but that they swim in the river too! 😲😳 Luckily we didn’t see any snakes swimming next to us. There were also locals swimming, so probably not a real problem.
The water was so crystal clear, that we filled several 10 liter bottles and poured the water into our water tank of our van. We have a water filter, so the water was lovely to drink. 💦❤️ Andy, Jonathan and I felt super thankful to have this free, pure & clean fill up. Muchos Gracias Nature! 🌱
Would you like to swim – in October – in ice cold mountain water with fish and possibly snakes?🏊♀️👇
