Vanlife

10 days before vanlife

Starting a new chapter isn’t easy. It’s letting go, hoping for the best and just going for it. This is what I wrote 10 days before starting vanlife in 2022:

Our journey is almost about to begin, and we can’t wait until we are living the vanlife life.✨ But for now we are just scared. Scared we won’t make it, scared the van will breakdown and scared of leaving everything we know.

Most of the times you see (or at least, we do) vanlifers on Instagram who have it all figured out. A van that’s perfect, fun remote jobs and killing it with their YouTube videos. But we are completely not there yet!

We are excited about 24 September, but also afraid. There is still so much to do! Installing extra solar panels, fixing the mattress, and last but not least: putting all our clothes and stuff inside the van in a logical place. 🤷🏼‍♀️And then we haven’t even discussed the matter of finding remote jobs yet.🙈😅 There are days that I (Eline) just sit, stare and stress. :/

But when I scroll through all the pictures we have made during our vanbuild, I realise how much we have already done and fixed. Jonathan and I worked almost every weekend in/for our van since December and we must say: it paid off. Everything is painted, we have a beautiful new floor, last week we got our last vaccines and next Monday I am registering my own business.

It’s easy to be afraid of the road ahead, but we’ve come a long way already!🌞

👉🏼What inspires you to keep on chasing your dreams?
